Rights, Freedoms Group continues final vote on outcomes

18 September 2013 /

The NDC's Rights and Freedoms Working Group continued its final vote on the outcomes of the economic and cultural rights subcommittees on Thursday. Its members voted on 21 decisions; 15 were approved by all members and 2 decisions were approved by consensus. They referred four other decisions to the Consensus Committee for resolution.

Chairwoman of the group ArwaOthman said the vote is going ahead perfectly, and all members are working as a team. "We will not allow anyone to hinder the vote," she said.

Meanwhile, some members suggested polishing all items previously approved to prepare them for final presentation and voting.

All members agreed to look into this suggestion and determine a mechanism to vote on these items when they vote on the outcomes of other subcommittees.
