NDC's Good Governance Working Group approves final report

The NDC Good Governance Working Group approved its final report on Thursday, with the exception of the group’s GPC and Ansar Allah members.

The group’s final report included 52 constitutional specifics, 157 legal specifics, and 38 recommendations.

The report, which was distributed to all members for comments, also included 162 legal specifics and 37 recommendations on foreign policy essentials, the rule of law and competent administration.

The report detailed a constitutional specific regarding political isolation which stipulated: "All Yemeni officials who were given immunity from prosecution under the Gulf Initiative and the UN Security Council's resolution No 1 for 2012 shall be put in political isolation; immunity shall be annulled and those officials will be prosecuted for any crimes they have committed."

The report also focused on foreign policy essentials, the rule of law and competent administration.

Any laws which allow for immunity and contradict constitutional articles should be voided, according to the report.  Involvement of political parties in the judiciary, security services, and armed forces should be prohibited, the report said.
