NDC Third Plenary Session Reviews Southern Issue Working Group's Final Report

The NDC Third Plenary Session reviewed on Saturday in a meeting headed by NDC Vice President Abdul-Kareem Al-Eryani the final report of the Southern Issue Working Group, named “Solutions and Guarantees.”

The final report was presented by the chairperson of the group Khaled Baras and a member of the group Ahmed Nassier al-Sharif.

The report said that the group started discussing the topic of solutions and guarantees of the southern issue in July.

"In this regard, all political parties and societal segments within the group were asked to submit their potential solutions to key issues, as well as plans illustrating how their proposed solutions could be successfully implemented,'' the report said.

According to the Southern Issue Working group's final report, the group members listened to 14 visions presented by political components within the group.

The group's final report said that in September an 8+8 sub-committee, tasked with finding solutions to Southern Issues, was formed in order to discuss 14 visions on solutions and guarantees.

The final report also pointed out that 32 meetings were held during the period of September 10 until December 21 by the 8+8 sub-committee's members, in addition to the meeting at the Presidential Palace where the Just Solution document was signed on December 23.

Moreover, the final report pointed out that the members of the Southern Issue Working Group had met with the Yemeni Ministerial Committee to address the implementation of items on both the twenty-point list submitted by the NDC Technical Committee and the eleven-point list which was submitted by the Southern Issue group itself.

Meanwhile, the NDC Third Plenary Session began hearing comments on the Southern Issue Working Group's final report, which is expected to be completed in tomorrow's session.
