Turkey Praises Yemen’s National Dialogue Conference

Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased with the "successful" conclusion of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) in Yemen which occurred on the 25th of January.

The dialogue process included 565 delegates representing established political parties, emergent political movements, youth activists, women leaders, and civil society organizations.

Congratulating the Yemen President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi, Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "Turkey believes that the preparation for a new constitution in Yemen that secures the fundamental rights and freedoms and that has accordance with National Dialogue Conference resolutions is essential for a consistent and prosperous Yemen."

The Ministry also indicated support to Yemen's security and development efforts.

"This day will be a milestone in the life of these great people who yearn for a better future after decades, or perhaps centuries, of oppression," Hadi said.

"We have managed to overcome all intentional, natural, and expected difficulties encountered during the NDC. Out of necessity, we extended its duration to ten months from the originally-planned six months," he added.
