Constitution of Yemen

The Yemeni Constitution Part I (Article 1) Yemen is a part of an Arab Islamic nation. (Article 2) Islam is the state religion and the official native language is Arabic. (Article 3) Islamic roots are the source of all legislation and it exercised directly by referendum and general elections. (Article 4) The political system of Yemen aims for a peaceful transfer of power and law. The law regulates the terms and procedures of political organizations and parties. The political activity may not harness public office for the benefit of a private party or political organization. (Article 5) The nation works with the United Nations Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the Charter of the League or Arab States and the rules of international laws generally recognized.
